Exciting progress is underway at River City Science Academy’s newest campus!

The future of STEM education is taking shape at 11895 Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville! Construction crews have been hard at work preparing the site and laying the foundation for what will become another exciting chapter in RCSA’s commitment to educational excellence.

As October comes to a close, we’re excited to share the latest milestones and a look at what’s coming next.

From the Ground Up: October Progress

Over the past week, significant progress has been made as the project moves from site preparation into foundational construction.

Crews have completed several important steps, including:

• Site Clearing and Preparation: Clearing work has been completed, creating space for the new campus to take shape.
• Foundation Work: Interior footings have been surveyed, excavated, prepared, and poured. These critical structural elements will help support the future building.
• Exterior Foundation: Work has begun on the exterior footings, marking another important step in the construction process.
• Site Grading: Crews continue leveling and preparing the land for the next phases of construction.

These early construction milestones may not be the most visible parts of a new school, but they are essential to creating a strong foundation for generations of future learners.

What’s Next? Building Momentum!

As we enter the final week of October, construction activity will continue to accelerate.

According to the latest construction schedule, crews will focus on completing additional exterior foundation work while beginning underground plumbing and electrical installations.

Both underground utility installations are scheduled to begin the week of October 26, with a major milestone on the horizon: the building’s concrete slab pour, currently scheduled for November 19, 2026.

With each completed phase, we’re one step closer to seeing the new campus rise from the ground.

More Than a Building ~ An Investment in the Future

At River City Science Academy, every new campus represents more than classrooms, hallways, and learning spaces. It represents opportunities for students to discover their passions, explore innovative ideas, and prepare for futures filled with possibility.

This project reflects RCSA’s continued commitment to expanding access to high-quality, STEM-focused public education in Jacksonville.

We are grateful to Summit Construction Group and the dedicated construction professionals bringing this vision to life.
