Visit From the City Council

City Council Vice President John Crescimbeni and his assistant, Nikki Evans, had a great tour of RCSA Elementary on Wednesday, March 22nd.  The tour was led by a few of our safety patrols: Lilly Snyder, Luke Campbell, and Paige Adair, who did an excellent job of representing RCSA and informing the visitors about our school….

Pennies for Patients!

RCSA Families, It’s not too late to donate to Pennies for Patients.  Donate here:  http://events.lls.org/pages/ncfl/River-City-Science-Academy-Elementary-School-2017 February 24th will be the last day to donate. The class with the most donations will earn an Olive Garden Pasta Party, and every class that gets over $100 in donations will earn a classroom pennant. Thank you for contributing to this cause and empowering students to see how they can help others.

5th Grade Zoo Invasion!

On Thursday, 5th grade students that have outdone themselves in i-Ready, took a trip to the zoo, where they wowed the employees there with their amazing ability to work together to organize food chains of various organisms.  We are very proud of these students for representing RCSA so well!  

Fam Jam

Pennies for Patients

RCSA Elementary is participating in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Pennies for Patients program, a service-learning program that gives students the unique experience of working together to help raise awareness and funds in honor of thousands of children and adults fighting against blood cancers. Literacy Through History In an effort to boost interest in reading about significant figures in history RCSA Elementary hosted a History Day on Wednesday, January 25th. Students dressed up as their most respected historic figures. Encourage your child to read about these amazing people and events in history!

Congratulations, January Students of the Month! Keeping up with i-Ready, Accelerated Reader Study Island, Studies weekly (and the list goes on) isn’t always easy. We are very proud of these students earning the January Student of the Month title. Keep your hard work, girls and boys!
