RCSA Cares About Helping Our Community

Many of us are heartbroken to see the struggles our military families and neighbors are facing due to the current SNAP benefits disruption. Food insecurity affects children’s learning, health, and emotional well-being – and it’s okay to feel worried or overwhelmed by what our families are facing. 💙

As a community built on empathy and action, we want to make sure you have support if you need it and simple ways to help if you’re able.

If You Need Help

📍 United Way 211

Instead of calling 911 for hunger-related needs, please call 211.

United Way’s 211 line is available 24/7 with confidential support for food, financial help, and health resources for ANYONE — staff, families, neighbors, or friends.

If You Are Able to Give

Food pantries are seeing overwhelming demand, and even small donations make a BIG impact. Our schools are collecting items for Feeding NEFL — giving will be easy and local as there are donation boxes at all of our campuses.

Most-needed items many don’t think to donate:

🥛 Boxed shelf-stable milk

🧂 Oil, spices, salt & pepper

🥫 Tuna & crackers, canned chicken, peanut butter, rice, beans

🧁 Cake mix + frosting (for birthdays!)

🧼 Dish soap, toiletries + feminine hygiene items (not covered by SNAP)

🔧 Can openers for canned goods

Reminder: families often receive pasta, PB, or boxed meals – but not the items needed to prepare them (bread, milk, oil, etc.).

Together, we are standing in the gap for families facing hunger and uncertainty. Thank you for being a community that sees its neighbors, leads with heart, and shows up for one another. 💙
