Many of our neighbors, friends, clients, and potentially even family members can suddenly be dropped from Medicaid if the redetermination is missed. Below are some helpful ways we can do our part to help minimize their stress.
- Encourage someone to act timely on notices mailed by the Department of Children and Families. Don’t assume all are or not recipients of benefits. We are educating today in an attempt the information be, tomorrow, valuable to someone else.
- Remind families government agencies will send correspondence/information to last mailing address on file.
- Facilitate each agency’s telephone number: Department of Children and Families (DCF) 866-762-2237 | Social Security Administration (SSA) 800 772 1213 for changes to be updated.
- Advise they log in their My Access account (DCF’s website) to complete recertification and follow through with needed actions.
- Redirect families to partners for assistance with the application process. It should be a FREE service to reapply for state and/or federal benefits.
