In honor of Veteran’s Day, RCSA Middle High celebrated its military families with a breakfast.
All active duty and veteran parents and staff were invited to attend.
Multiple parents representing the Army and Navy joined their students for breakfast, as well as two guests from Naval Station Mayport.
Master Chief Petty Officer Monica Sherrill spoke to parents and high school students interested in the military. She is the senior enlisted leader at the Naval Branch Medical Clinic at Naval Station Mayport.
Master Chief Sherrill encouraged the students to always pursue their dreams, saying she never expected to rise as high as she did. She has served 25 years in the Navy, and plans to retire after 30 years.
Petty Officer Smith shared her story with the group, moving from a career in journalism to working as a drug and alcohol counselor, all with the Navy. Students planning a career in the Navy, Army and Coast Guard spoke with the officers, learning about opportunities in the military, travel and the boot camp experience.
RCSA is continuously thankful for all service members, from within the RCSA family and outside of it.
